Congratulations DepED Quezon Library Hub

Congratulations to DepED Quezon Library Hub for bagging the Grand Prize Winner of First National Search for Most Functional Library Hubs (Large Division). The awarding was held last November 25, 2009 at the Bayview Park Hotel. DepED Quezon Library Hub is a joint project of Quezon Provinicial Government of Quezon and DepED - Division of Quezon.

P.E.A.C.E. in Library Management and Revolutionizing Information of IFLA-FAIFE Internet Manifesto


In celebration of its 3rd year anniversary, LAQueP-LInc conducted a one-day seminar on P.E.A.C.E. in Library Management and Revolutionizing Information of IFLA-FAIFE Internet Manifesto at Calayan Educational Foundation, Inc., Lucena City on September 11, 2009.


It aims to stress the importance of personality and communication skills of librarians in the management of libraries; disseminate and train librarians on the emerging role of Internet in today’s information revolution and also to implement the IFLA-FAIFE Internet Manifesto at the provincial level thereby enabling students and its community to become critical thinkers and effective users of information in all formats and media; strengthen librarians’ understanding of the library’s basic functions and how technology has changed these basic functions; and to empower the administrators, librarians, information professionals and teacher-librarians in conquering successfully the library challenges of the 21st century.

The speakers of the said seminar are Ms. Ma. Criselda P. Ramos, Branch Marketing Manager of the Market Strategic Firm of SM Department Store– Lucena, Ms. Mignon Tan, Director, Research &Publication/Presidential Asst. for Marketing & Promotion of Calayan Educational Foundation, Inc.


The second part of the program will be the Revolutionizing Information on IFLA- FAIFE Internet Manifesto, wherein Ms. Audrey G. Anday, Vice- President of PLAI- STRLC will discuss the Overview of Rationale of the Project of IFLA- FAIFE and Internet Manifesto, Implementating the Internet Manifesto by Ms. Ivy Rose Y. Atienza, LAQueP-LInc Secretary , The Current Role of Internet in Philippine Libraries: Scenarios and Trends, LAQueP-LInc Vice President, Laws and Policies Regulating Intenet Access in the Philippines will be discussed by Ms. Jenalyn Pancho, NOMELEC of PLAI- STRLC, and Mrs. Augusta Rosario A. Villamater, Treasurer of PLAI- STRLC and President of LAQueP-LInc will be discussing the How to Write An Internet Use Policies. LAQueP-LInc also invites interested book companies to contribute and be part in the celebration of its 3rd year anniversary .

LAQueP-LInc's 3rd General Assembly and Seminar-Workshop Set on Sept.11, 2009

Librarians Association of Quezon Province-Lucena, Inc. (formerly QLA) will conduct a one-day seminar-workshop on September 11, 2009 (Friday) at Hermano Puli Auditorium, 2nd Floor Katatagan Hall, Calayan Educational Foundation,Inc., Lucena City.

The seminar-workshop aims to: enhance the personality of librarians in dealing with customers; strengthen the communication skills; and gain knowledge on revolutionizing information thru internet manifesto.

Participants are professional librarians and non-professional librarians working on both public and private libraries.

The forum fees are as follows: Php 500.00 for members and Php 600.00 for non-members which will include seminar kits, snacks, and lunch.

Revolutionizing Information: A Seminar-Workshop on IFLA/FAIFE Internet Manifesto

The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. - Southern Tagalog Region Librarians Council (PLAI-STRLC) hosts the IFLA-FAIFE Internet Manifesto Trainers Workshop Project in the Philippines 2009 with the theme: "Revolutionizing Information: A Seminar-Workshop on IFLA/FAIFE Internet Manifesto" on June 25-26, 2009 at La Sallete Retreat House, Biga, Silang, Cavite.
